Nakaima Dance for Health



Nakaima for Dance and Health
is a not-for-profit company based in Toronto, Canada that aims to positively impact the health and well-being of individuals and communities through their engagement in dance. The company develops and delivers dance activities and programs using physical, cognitive and musical components informed by dance theory, evaluation and research findings from various fields, including health, neurology, social sciences, education, and feedback from participants.

The company uses evaluative thinking and knowledge translation explicitly to make a difference in long-term solutions.

We believe that dance as an art form is a cultural resource that can be transformative for participants and audiences, elevating their quality of life.
